Welcome to Middle School Science
My name is Kelly Simpson and I am starting my second year as the Middle School Science Teacher here at St Anthony after 33 years spent in public education teaching science and coaching track and cross country at the high school level.
I am a native Iowan growing up in Ogden, and currently residing in Jefferson. I earned my BAE from Wayne State College in Nebraska, and then completed a Master of Science in Science Education degree from the University of Iowa.
This year SAS will be one of the pilot schools in the Des Moines Diocese for a new Middle School scope and sequence of science standards and benchmarks that align with the new State of Iowa Science Standards. The 2018-19 school year will focus on the sixth grade science curriculum with the seventh and eighth grade curriculums being worked on in the future.
I am excited to begin this new school year with the youth in this parish. I hope to challenge them academically in their science learning and grow spiritually with them in our walk with God.
