Hola!

Hello to all! My name is Marisol Guerra( Sra. Guerra) and this is my 8th year teaching at St. Anthony’s School.  I have two teenage children in high school already.  My son is a senior this year and frankly , I wish he was back in Kindergarten.  My daughter is a sophomore. We came to Iowa from Honduras, a beautiful country in Central America.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Education and a Masters Degree from Longwood University in Curriculum Developement and Instruction Specialist. I have been teaching a second language for more than 20 years. Previous to coming to St. Anthony I taught English at an English Immersion school in Honduras and now I am teaching my native language to Kindergartners.

Kindergarten  is a year in which your children are completely immersed in the Spanish Language, its culture and diversity. Through projects, activities, books, songs, reading, writing, plays and lots of love, patience and care, they will learn the skills necessary to succeed in an academic environment and in their personal lives.

I am looking forward to this new adventurous year with your children. It will be fun and challenging!!!  Let’s work together to make your child’s learning meaningful and unforgettable!!

Thank you for your support and faith in the program.

Marisol Guerra (Señora Guerra)
